Repeat of a course

Some courses are designated in the catalog as repeatable for credit (such as special topics courses when two different topics are taken, or advanced studio courses). Students may earn credit for such courses more than once. Courses that are not repeatable for credit may be repeated for a better grade. The entire course must be repeated at Reed, and only the higher grade will be included in the grade point average calculation. The lesser grade will be replaced on the transcript with the designation that signifies “repeated for credit.” Special rules pertain to the repeat of yearlong courses. See the Faculty Code for those rules.
