Description: Medical Assist - Other
Location: Residence hall

Notes: A CSO responded to a medical request at a residence hall. A parent of a student had received an injury during move out. The CSO applied first aid and offered to call an ambulance, which the injured party accepted. An ambulance arrived and the parent was transported to the hospital.

Description: Suspicious Person/Activity/Circumstances
Location: Greenwood

Notes: A CSO on patrol near Greenwood saw three individuals sitting underneath the building. The individuals quickly left when noticed. There was no evidence of drug use or property damage and the CSO resumed their patrol.

Description: Trespass
Location: Campus Central

Notes: A CSO responded to a report of a disturbance in the quad. Upon arrival, the CSO encountered a known excluded individual. The CSO asked the individual to leave and they proceeded to physically threaten the CSO. Another CSO arrived and the individual left campus. The CSOs resumed their duties after ensuring the individual had completely exited campus.

Description: Theft
Location: Bragdon

Notes: A CSO responded to a report of theft in Bragdon residence hall. The CSO met with a student who reported their groceries had been removed from the communal fridge. Dispatch checked with facilities and confirmed the cleaning crew had not removed food from the fridge in question. The possibility was suggested that the groceries were taken by another student who mistakenly thought they had been left behind during move out.

Description: Burglary
Location: Foster

Notes: A CSO responded to a report of a break in at Foster residence hall. The CSO met with a student who reported having witnessed an unknown, masked, individual exiting the conjoined dorm room. The individual quickly left when they saw the student. Upon checking, it was confirmed that the individual had climbed in through the window of the conjoined room. Portland Police were called to assist in a thorough search of the immediate and adjacent areas, however the individual was not found.

Location: PAB

Notes: Dispatch received a report from a building services member that a bathroom in the Performing Arts Building had been vandalized. Graffiti had been spray painted on the stall walls, the soap dispenser had been taken off of the wall and emptied, and paper towels had been strewn all over the floor. Community Safety generated a damage to property report and the bathroom was cleaned.

Notes: A student arrived at 28 West to report their bike had been stolen from inside the north swipe entrance of Sequoia residence hall.

Notes: A student reported that their bike had been stolen from where it had been secured inside the Foster/Scholz bike storage.

Description: Theft
Location: Kaul Auditorium

Notes: A CSO on patrol near the facilities building was flagged down by a Reed building services employee. The employee reported two of their bags had been stolen out of Kaul while they were working there. The employee was extremely concerned because, to their knowledge, the building had been completely locked and they were the only person inside it at the time.

These responses are always collected anonymously with the option for the responder to leave contact information if they would like for a member of Community Safety management to contact them, and are used internally for departmental performance tracking. Community Safety has opted to publish these survey results for transparency and community accountability. *Names and pronouns mentioned in survey responses will be redacted to protect the privacy of individuals.

In addition to surveys sent directly to those who have interacted with Community Safety, the Reed community is always encouraged to independently complete the survey regarding Community Safety's performance.
