Description: Damage to Property
Location: ETC

Notes: A CSO responded to a report of property damage in the parking lot south of the ETC. The CSO met with a member of staff whose vehicle window had been shattered and the vehicle subsequently searched. The staff member reported that nothing appeared to have been stolen and also relayed that they planned to file a police report regarding the incident.

Notes: A CSO on patrol near the blue bridge encountered the odor of fresh spray paint. Upon investigation, the CSO observed that a nearby sign had been covered in neon-purple spray paint. A work order has been placed for removal of the graffiti.

Notes: A CSO on patrol encountered new graffiti on the window of the main entrance of the chemistry building. A work order has been placed for removal of the graffiti.

Location: 28 West

Notes: A CSO on vehicle patrol observed that a car had driven through the fence of the Eastmoreland Golf Course adjacent to campus, and that the driver was just exiting the vehicle. As this was outside of the Community Safety patrol jurisdiction, the CSO requested Portland police response in case the driver needed assistance. Upon police arrival, the CSO returned to their patrol duties.

Notes: A CSO responded to a report of graffiti at Trillium. The CSO observed that graffiti had been scrawled in marker on the south-facing glass of the Trillium first floor classroom. A work order was submitted for the removal of the graffiti.

Notes: A CSO responded to a report of a vehicle break-in at the Grove Parking Lot. The CSO met with a member of staff whose vehicle window had been shattered, and the vehicle subsequently searched. The vehicle owner stated that nothing appeared to have been stolen. The vehicle owner stated they would also file a police report.

Notes: A CSO responded to a Birchwood apartment regarding water leaking into the unit through two different places. The CSO requested the Dispatcher contact on-call maintenance to perform the necessary repairs.

Notes: A CSO on patrol encountered new graffiti on a south facing window of the GCC building. A work order has been submitted for removal of the graffiti.

Notes: A CSO on patrol encountered new graffiti on the exterior walls by the back doors of the Student Union. A work order has been submitted for removal of the graffiti.

Description: Damage to Property
Location: West Lot

Notes: A CSO on vehicle patrol encountered a vehicle that had been driven off of 28th Ave., and was stopped in the bushes on the west boundary of the West Lot. The driver was still in the vehicle and, though moving, was unresponsive to the CSO’s questions. Based on the CSO’s experience and training, they concluded that the driver was most likely experiencing a medical emergency. American Medical Response was contacted to assist the driver. The CSO remained on the scene to offer assistance. The driver was able to confirm that they had suffered from an episode of a known medical condition while driving, and that they were uninjured. The driver was cleared by paramedics to drive home. Community Safety Dispatch later received a call from the driver’s family member to express their gratitude for the CSO’s assistance and to confirm that the driver had arrived home safely with no further incidents.

 

CS Survey Responses:

Every week Community Safety requests survey responses from those who've had interactions with a member of the Community Safety team. These responses are always collected anonymously with the option for the responder to leave contact information if they would like for a member of Community Safety management to contact them, and are used internally for departmental performance tracking. Community Safety has opted to publish these survey results for transparency and community accountability. *Names and pronouns mentioned in survey responses will be redacted to protect the privacy of individuals.

In addition to surveys sent directly to those who have interacted with Community Safety, the Reed community is always encouraged to independently complete the survey regarding Community Safety's performance.
